This project was assigned as a group project in which we were put into different teams to create a logo mark for HorseHill Vineyards, Cal Poly’s very own vineyard that is cultivated on campus. With that logo mark, we are to expand the deliverables and include different labels, advertising materials, brochures and more.

HORSEHILL VINEYARDS
HorseHill Vineyards is an on-campus vineyard that is cultivated by our College of Agriculture and Collins College of Hospitality. It is a collaborative wine project between Cal Poly Pomona and South Coast Winery that creates the perfect balance of scientific creativity, plant mastery, splendid hospitality, and innovative learning for over 200 students involved in the university’s viniculture program. Each step of the way, students have done the bulk of the work in the vineyards, plowing the field, tending the cuttings in the nursery and grafting them to the roots, cultivating and harvesting the grapes. The university’s grapes are delivered to the winery, where Master winemaker and South Coast’s Director of Winemaking Jon McPherson oversees the actual winemaking process, bottling about 400 cases of each vintage for the university.
RESEARCH
I was assigned to research the process of how to make wine therefore, I went to a winery and had the opportunity to go on a tour of how the wine aged and was kept in barrels to become the delicious wine that they sell. I was able to take photographs of everything to document and share with my team how wine was made and bottled. It helped me to understand how to think as I created new thumbnails and ideas for our wine label back home.
