BOOK COVER / THUMBNAIL IDEAS
The free flowing lines and shapes demonstrate a surrealist practice that taps into the subconscious mind. All the shapes represent an item or photo that can be found in the book and I would love to keep the audience curious and searching for what each shape is there for. Initially, the cover was supposed to be a broken stippling drawing of my waves that I truly treasure because it taught me no matter how small a little dot can be, together, it can create something so big and so beautiful. I then realized my theme for the book, “willing to take a risk” and show my vulnerable side, that is where the second cover came along. Further, I wanted to utilize my favorite style from the artist Miro, so that I am able to differentiate myself from the other many many amazing portfolios.
LOGO DEVELOPMENT
Jlee Design was created because many people used to called me J-Lee as I grew up. It was a short and easy way for people to remember my name and I always loved it. It has a calligraphy texture that displays my love for drawing, but also my skill of combining drawings and free form with graphics.. The simplicity of the logo shines because of its subtle and classy characteristics.
